Sky has revealed its Skys News app for iPhone and iPod touch has been downloaded one million times, since it launched it in May 2009.

The app, which can be downloaded free from the iTunes Store, brings you the very best of Sky News’ breaking news in words, pictures and video.

You can also get a quick news update with the handy three-minute video bulletin, or watch in-depth video coverage of the days big stories, where you see the play icon.

If you are going away for a few days why not get a weather forecast from the Sky News Centre in the Video tab, there you will also find a video clip with the latest showbiz news.

You can also send news (with images that are optional) of interest to Sky directly from the app.
